Insignia for Asensio to mark 25 matches with the National Team

To coincide with the match between Spain and the Czech Republic in the UEFA Nations League, this past Sunday, the president of the RFEF (Spanish Royal Football Federation) gave commemorative insignias to two outstanding players from the National Team. In this event, the president of the RFEF awarded the insignia of the institution to the player from the Balearic Islands, Marco Asensio Willemsen, for his 25 matches with the National Team, a number he achieved on November 11 of 2020, playing in the starting eleven in the draw with one goal against the Netherlands in Amsterdam.

The player of Real Madrid and the Spanish national team, Marco Asensio has been successfully operated on at the CEMTRO Clinic for his broken anterior cruciate ligament and the external meniscus of his left knee. The operation was carried out by Dr. Manuel Leyes, from the Traumatology service and was supervised by the Medical Service of Real Madrid. The player will remain in hospital until he receives his discharge.

UEFA Team of the Year: Marco Asensio among the 11 nominees of Real Madrid

Voting opened on Tuesday to select the Uefa Team of the Year from a 50-player shortlist made up of five goalkeepers, 15 defenders, 15 midfielders and 15 forwards. The list is compiled by reporters and correspondents at Fifa.com and based on a player’s performances for club and country during Uefa tournaments in the calendar year. Real Madrid, who won the Champions League in 2016-17 to successfully defend their title, have a total of 11 nominees on the list, including the midfielder Marco Asensio.
